From the Wine House, featuring guest sommelier Michelle Prichard. Michelle is an Occupational Therapist by day and moonlights as a sommelier. Today’s wines represent some of her personal and some regional favorites!
Fleuraison Brut Rose: Our sparkling starter, Fleuraison, is a rose blend of Tempranillo and Grenache produced in the south of France. A beautiful pink hue, Fleuraison translates to blossoming, and as we enter the spring season, this bubbly beauty lives up to its name!
Muscadet: From the Loire Valley of France, this zippy, citrusy white is 100% Melon de Bourgogne, responsible for my passion in exploring the world of wine! My personal summer favorite, the wine at the heart of a beurre blanc sauce, and when the weather permits, an excellent pair for oysters, makes this an excellent choice for any time of year!
Foucher-Lebrun Le Monte Sancerre: Another white from the Loire Valley, 100% Sauvignon Blanc with familiar citrus and vegetal notes with refreshing minerality from limestone-rich soils. An excellent pair for goat cheese, vinaigrette dishes, green vegetables, seafood, and creamy dishes!
Domaine Gille Bourgogne Pinot Noir: Bourgogne (Burgundy), located in east-central France, is a world-renowned wine region celebrated for its Pinot Noir. This Pinot Noir has a deep garnet color with dark fruit aromas of blackberries, red currants, and cassis. Finely balanced, fresh and fruity. The tannins are ripe, the texture is soft and round, and the finish is spicy.
Domaine de la Charbonniere Vacqueyras: From the Southern Rhone, a blend of Grenache and Syrah with notes of dark cherries, raspberries, and dried herbs. The Rhone Valley is a classic wine region in Southeastern France, known for its historic vineyards, diverse terroirs, and for producing some of the world’s finest.
Chateau Blaignan Medoc Bordeaux: One of the most famous regions of the world, Bordeaux is known for its blends. This 90-point dry, full-bodied red made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is an excellent value and can be a cellar staple. Expect notes of black cherries, black currant, and spices with a rich velvety mouthfeel.
